Does your family or anyone in it resemble a cartoon strip? Like Family Circus, For better or Worse, or even Garfield? Mine does, well Nathan does. ZITS...... Have you read it? It's about a high school boy and his parents and all the trials and tribulations that go along with having a teenage son. I almost always go "OMG that is soooo Nathan" when I read the weekly cartoon!!!
This one so hit home with me I just had to share....
Nathan will have a decent breakfast each morning, sometimes he eats and eats and other times it is just a bagel. He needs to munch all day during school so his lunch usually consists of snack type foods, plus he doesn't like to "eat" lunch at lunch time, he likes to socialize. But when he comes home LOOK OUT! He will eat everything and anything he can find. This not only happens during the school week but the weekends as well and they are 10x's worse.
We have a pantry in the house where I keep all the good stuff! Cookies, chips, pop-tarts etc... and Nathan helps himself! I will go into the game room on a Sat. morning and find wrappers all around the tv area. When we had soda in the house (the kids only get soda on Friday nights) I would find the empty cans in the pockets of the pool table, Nathan thought he was being sneaky! And I won't get into what I have found under his bed when cleaning!!!
Well.... let me tell you.... I had had enough! David and I solved the problem of my anytime binger!! We put a lock on the pantry door! If Nathan wants a snack, other than the healthy stuff in the fridge, he needs to ask! He eats a lot more apples than before!
remember when he would hardly eat anything.
The cartoon does remind me of him, liked the one where a friend came over to borrow something. The two did not speak but texted each other, Nathan & Curtis was all I could think of.
