I use to be sooooo organized.
When I left the house to go to work, I knew what the day would bring. I would have everything figured out the night before. What I was going to wear, what the kids were going to wear and have for lunch, what we were going to have for dinner (and even meals planned ahead for the week).
Now that I work from home, and I don't have a "set" schedule of things that need to get done, like getting dressed (I stay in my PJ's way too long) or picking out the kids clothes the night before, being that they are old enough to do it themselves, I don't feel the need to organize the night before anymore, which lends itself to being dis-organized in every other area of my day and night.
My days have certainly NOT become less busy or require me to be less organized, it is actually the opposite. We are always on the go with school meetings, Dr's appts, soccer, boy scouts and girl scouts to name a few. But with all these things that need to be scheduled I am finding myself more and more scatterbrained than ever. I should plan ahead.... with shopping for groceries or planning a weeks worth of meals since we are always eating on the fly! But I don't! And this has caused me to be rushed and harried when I need to have a plan, a system, a CLUE!
With all that being said..... The other night David and Nathan had a Scout meeting so Irushed to get dinner ready. I re-heated some leftovers for David and Nathan and I put on some pasta for me and Eleigh. She decided she couldn't wait for the pasta to cook so I made her some oatmeal. While the pasta was cooking I went downstairs to watch the news and told myself I have about 5-7 minutes before it is done....... I began to notice a burnt smell upstairs..... I didn't remember cooking anything in the oven.... I ran upstairs thinking Eleigh is cooking something...... BUT NO..... looking at the stove I remembered I had put on the pasta to cook. 1 and 1/2 hours ago!!!!!!
WHO DOES THIS????? WHO BURNS PASTA!!!!!!
Not only did i NOT have dinner, I ruined a good pot!
I really need to get organized!
